Running the Light

We were driving
Down the road
Not too fast,
But not too slow
The light was green
All was mellow
But what’s this?
The light turned yellow
But that didn’t stop me
Continue, keep going
The light now red
I should be slowing
Through the light
I didn’t stop
Thank god I didn’t pass a cop,
And now I’m sorry
I really tried
The drivers ed teacher
Nearly died.
