Still Life

A white mask on the wall
Stares back at me with no eyes
Frozen blood running
Down the face from the eyes like Oedipus Rex

Red strings looking like strips of fire
The mask also looks back with a still face
Wearing a silverfish metallic crown in a majestic manner

I see a white mask with a friendly smirk on its face
The mask has a smirk on its face maybe
because of something someone said in class.
Or maybe he has a plan to execute
And we are all involved.
