Terror Within

Under the shifting sea,

below calm, cool waves,

bodies floating, swimming

as salty, slimy seaweed swirls by.

Beyond,

lingering footprints,

left in soft powdery sand,

within the deep, dark, blue ocean,

schools of fish pass by.

Hidden beneath

deep water,

a sharp fin pops up.

Suddenly,

fishes scurry away,

into the rock hard coral.

Fishes,

frightened like children in the dark,

the fin approaches,

surveying for lunch.

Schools,

of fish search frantically for safety,

bolting by all the occupied homes,

progressing towards shallow waters.

The fin,

chasing fishes,

quickens its pace.

Finally,

reaching shallow water,

fishes start swimming peacefully.

Knowing,

the fishes are calm,

the fin creeps along its way,

fish go into a state of panic.

As the fin approaches,

people evacuate the ocean,

like a burning building,

fishes split apart to hide.

One brave fish,

marches towards the fin,

as the fish approaches slowly,

he learns the fin is only-

A dolphin.
