Fire, What Is It Good For?

Did it come from the fiery depths,

 of Hell like the Devil?

Has it been here long,

 like God?

Did it appear,

 like the earth?

Why does it crackle and pop,

 like a Rice Crispies box?

Does it have a tasty glow,

 like sweet maple syrup?

Is it trying to warn us,

 with it’s fuming fury?

Does is give security,

 like a watchdog?

Or is it planning to kill

 like a stealthy predator?

Can it be captured,

 like a butterfly?

Or will it pull a

 Houdini and hide?

Does it fly

 like a bird?

Or does it move

 like a snake?

Does it float

 like a boat?
