Stepping Stones

My body swimming across the rugged
white brightness.
With hope
To maybe reach the world.
Towards the aroma of crisp cinnamon curls.

My arms and legs stretched out
Superman- without a cape.
Suddenly, I moved across faster than ever
like cats and dogs.
I crawled this new passion out until …
sleep dawned on me.

My hands grasping the bedside,
The energy of all the pureed fruits and veggies
trying my first pull-up,
but I just couldn’t.
Undiscouraged, by the drive to be
Tall.

My luck was tried
Finally,
standing, somewhat shaky.
Using anything there was,
folks’ legs, chairs, feather pillows
Here,
I stood tall as I thought I’d ever be.

My list of dreams and desires lengthened as I grew
Long term or week-long
It became harder than trial and error
for this determination
to succeed.
Could this be possible?
