| Bethany Cohen RefreshedBright whiteGleaming from the floor tiles,
 Leads me
 throughout the apartment.

Sunshine and a view of the turquoise ocean
 Coming in from every window
 Engulfs every room.

 The ivory kitchen table,
 Drenched in white light,
 With Gram’s perfect silhouette
Drinking her coffee and completing the crossword puzzle.

The crash of the Atlantic Ocean waves-
 My soft, comforting drum,
 The sound of home.

 I search for Poppy
Only to find he’s playing golf.
 I continue to stroll
 And explore the peaceful haven.

 Next awakening
Beneath the sheets on the couch
 The sun in my face,
A slight breeze from the open door.
 Refreshed.
