Ode to Coat

I needed a comb,
I went to the store.
Instead I came home,
With a coat I adore.

Her name is Roxy.
The hood lined with faux fur,
And tan tinted at the ends.
Feeling soft and fluffy,
It perfectly frames,
Every curve of my face.

Teal stripes line the outside,
On top of black, white, and grey squares.
The front has four pockets,
Two for each side.
A golden zipper lines the middle,
Setting the divide.
Making the coat,
Fit snugly to my sides.

Roxy has been my friend,
Through all the rough times.
Everyday she travels,
To wherever I choose.
Through rain and snow,
And sleet and slush,
She shines in the light,
Making me feel alive.

Each time I go to the store,
I wear this coat.
But before I decide to go,
I fix my hair with a comb.
