A Special Gift from the Sky

It was one beautiful day.
Sky so clear, sun so bright,
Cool winter breeze blowing,
Making the day fresher than ever.

Twenty days before my eighth birthday,
I still remember very clearly.
A start of new life with
A special gift from the sky.

When I laid my eyes on a baby inside my mom’s arm,
The world around me became silent all of sudden,
As if we were the only two people in this room.

I could feel all my senses focusing on one thing,
On a baby too young to even open her eyes.
I couldn’t take my eyes off of her,
A small baby who has my nose and my lips.

To a seven-year old little girl,
Everything seemed like a magic.
A magical gift from the sky
And my greatest wish coming true.

With the most joyful smile on my face,
I thought that the sky sent me the greatest birthday gift ever.

A small baby who looks a lot like me,
A small baby who will bring joy to our family.
My one and only loving sister.
