Elizabeth D.

Heaven

I see blue waves,
White crests on some.
A slow, warm breeze
Hits my face gently.

I can smell the salt
In the warm ocean water.
I felt the calm waves
Hitting me as I swam.

I laid down on my back
And floated on water.
I felt myself flying
On warm and still water.

As I looked at the sky,
So blue and clear,
I feel a great peace
Which came over me.

Like being in heaven,
I had no more worries,
No more troubles,
No more work.

I was finally free,
I laughed with my joy.
I’d been sent to heaven,
Never to return.

But I heard a loud beeping,
And now I wake up.
I am no longer happy,
For it was only a dream.
