The Duty of Watching

Traveling
Traveling into the mountain
Traveling to relieve him of his duty
The duty of watching
The duty of waiting
The duty of moving
Moving through the wilderness
Moving like a lone deer, swift and light
Moving towards the open
The open woods, thick and cluttered
The open mountains, strong and tough
The open plains, soft and empty
Plains extending to the reaches
Plains flat and barren
Plains rich with nothing
Nothing of rock
Nothing of nature
Nothing of man
Nothing
