| Carl Lian BittersweetOh, the feeling it gives me!When it touches the tip of my tongue
 For the very first time.
 Its sweetness startles me -
 In just the right way.
 So I savor it, cherish it,
 As it melts in its warmth.

 But it truly does melt, for
 All of a sudden, the sweet taste departs,
 Though something is still there.
 Something brumal, something bitter;
 Belligerent, it bites at me, breaks me
 Until I understand its game, but too late - it’s
 Indelible in my mind.

 You call it love.
